Hollister-Whitney announces $1,500 scholarships for local vocational, technical students
QUINCY — Hollister-Whitney (HWI), a leading provider of elevator components and solutions, recently announced the launch of its annual scholarship program offering two scholarships of $1,500 each to support local residents pursuing further education in vocational or technical fields.
The Hollister-Whitney Scholarship aims to empower students who demonstrate community service, educational merit and financial need. The scholarship is designed to assist people committed to advancing their technical skills and contributing to the workforce in meaningful ways.
As Hollister-Whitney celebrates its 125th year in the community, general manager Ed Trone believes this is the moment to introduce the scholarships. In a press release, he said, “This is an easy opportunity for HW to give back to the community we have been a part of for more than 125 years.”
Like other businesses in the area, HWI faces the day-to-day challenge of finding workers.
“Hiring has been tough overall in recent years, and finding candidates with strong technical and mechanical skills has been even more challenging,” Trone said. “Our business heavily requires employees with a technical background and aptitude. Today’s students are the key to our future success.”
