HSQAC to hold annual meeting and D-Day program Sunday at History Museum on the Square
QUINCY — The Historical Society of Quincy and Adams County will hold its annual meeting beginning at 1 p.m. on Sunday, June 23, in the History Museum on the Square, 332 Maine.
The agenda will include the election of officers and directors; approval of the annual financial report; approval of the budget for the upcoming year; a report by the society’s president; and standing committee reports on such areas as building and grounds, exhibits, programs and education.
Following the meeting at approximately 2 p.m., Quincy University’s Wendell Mauter will present “A Close Run Thing: The Hell that was D-Day 6 June 1944, A look back after 80 years,” an important program commemorating the anniversary of D- Day and the historic landings along the Normandy coast during World War II.
The annual meeting and program are both free and open to the public as well as the organization’s membership.
