It’s the most wonderful time of the year … for fruitcakes from the Golden K Kiwanis

QUINCY — Quincy’s Golden K Kiwanis Club is taking orders for Claxton fruitcakes for the holiday season.

Order for yourself or your business. Other options include participating in the “Sponsor a Vet” program to say thank you to a veteran or sponsoring a senior citizen program to give seniors a holiday treat. Fruitcakes are priced at $10. Flavors available are regular (the most popular) and dark (made with molasses and rum.)

Other ways to support this effort is for individuals or businesses to sponsor a case in one of four ways:

• Buy a case of 24 ($240) to give to your employees and customers
• Sponsor a case of 24 ($240) and the Kiwanis will give them to their customers
• Donate a case ($240) to a favorite food bank or charity
• Make a donation

Orders must be received by Monday, Oct. 2. Fruitcakes will be available in November. Checks should be made payable to Quincy Golden K Kiwanis and sent to Bruce York, treasurer, 7332 State Highway 96 N, Quincy, Illinois 62305.

All proceeds from this fundraiser support the Kiwanis mission to serve the children of the world, one community at a time.
