Japanese actress from Pokemon series visiting Quincy Country Club on Saturday
QUINCY — Tomo Sakurai, a versatile actress and singer from Tokyo known for her role of the strong trainer, Shirona (known as Cynthia in the U.S.) in the popular Pokemon series, will visit Quincy Country Club on Saturday, May 25. Sakurai will sign autographs from 2 to 3 p.m. and from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m.
Sakurai made her debut in the entertainment industry at the age of 15 as a member of an idol group. She since has continued her diverse activities as a singer, stage actress, TV actress and voice actress. Other major roles she has had featured Mylene Jenius of Macross7, Kaitou Saint Tail (Saint Tail) and Misao Makimachi on Rurouni Kenshin.
As a singer, she has held numerous live concerts and published more than 100 CDs with mostly anime and game theme songs, as well as her own original songs.
Tickets to the event are limited. Each attendee will receive an autograph and a choice of one souvenir photo while supplies last.
