JWCC to be site of Blazer Bash, family-focused community event, on Saturday
QUINCY — John Wood Community College will host Blazer Bash, a free community event for families and people of all ages on Saturday, Sept. 30. The event is outside from noon to 2 p.m. on the Quincy campus at 48th and Harrison.
The event will feature a free lunch and a variety of family and interactive activities such as a bounce house, face painting, big trucks, fire truck, patrol car, tractors, games and interactive projects with the Quincy Art Center and Quincy Children’s Museum.
JWCC admissions staff, human resources and instructors for various academic and career/technical programs will be on hand to provide information, details on JWCC job opportunities and interactive activities. Shandi’s Coffee & Creams, Sweet P Petals and KC’s Tropical Sno will be on site.
The JWCC men’s soccer team will play Heartland Community College at 2 p.m. on Quincy Recycle Field on the JWCC campus.
Community members at the Bash who have attended JWCC are welcome to join the Trail Blazer Network to connect with the college, students and instructors as part of the college’s 50th anniversary kickoff. More information on the network and anniversary can be found at www.jwccfoundation.org/50years.
