JWCC to host Blazer Pep Day for students involved in band, cheer, dance on Saturday
QUINCY — John Wood Community College will be the host of Blazer Pep Day from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 20, at its Quincy campus at 48th and Harrison. This event is free to all high school students involved in band, cheer or dance performance groups.
The JWCC pep band, cheer squad and dance team will provide instruction on specific songs and routines to their respective groups during the morning from 9 a.m. to noon. Participants will break for lunch and a campus tour. All the groups will perform during JWCC’s women’s and men’s basketball games at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.
All participants will receive a complimentary lunch and T-shirt. Band attendees should bring their instruments, water bottles and folding music stand. Cheer and dance participants are asked to wear workout clothes and appropriate shoes.
Pep Day is an opportunity to showcase the talents of area high school students and for those students to connect with JWCC instructors, coaches and students.
