PITTSFIELD, Ill. — John Wood Community College will host a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) informational meeting at 4 p.m. Monday, July 28, at its Southeast Education Center, 39637 260th Ave.

The meeting is open to individuals interested in enrolling in CNA courses offered at the Southeast Education Center this fall. Attendees will have the opportunity to speak with JWCC representatives to learn about course offerings, the enrollment process, career pathways, financial aid options and job outlook for CNAs.

JWCC’s CNA program prepares students to provide basic nursing care in long-term care facilities, hospitals and home health settings. The program meets state training requirements and includes classroom instruction and hands-on clinical experience. CNA certification is often the first step toward a career in healthcare, offering a foundation for students pursuing nursing or other allied health professions.

Fall CNA classes at the SEC-Pittsfield campus begin Aug. 18. Program staff will be available to answer questions and assist with registration.
