K of C BBQ Little Miss & Mr. and baby contests return Sunday, Aug. 10

QUINCY — The yellow brick road leads straight to the Knights of Columbus BBQ this August as the annual Little Miss & Mr. and baby contests return with a magical Wizard of Oz theme. The event will take place at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 10, at the Knights of Columbus grounds, 700 S. 36th St.

A beloved part of the community’s favorite summer tradition, the contest invites little ones to show off their charm, smiles and spirit. The baby contest is for children 0 to 35 months of age with the Little Miss and Mr. contest open to children 3 to 6 years of age.

“The K of C BBQ is a Quincy tradition that brings generations together, and the baby and Little Miss and Mr. contest is always a highlight,” said pageant organizer Lindsey Hess in a press release. “This year’s Wizard of Oz theme adds a touch of nostalgia and whimsy. We can’t wait to see our own Dorothys, lions, and scarecrows take the stage.”

The contest is part of the larger K of C BBQ weekend, known for its great food, live music and community spirit. The festival runs Aug.8–10 and features everything from fish and chicken dinners to carnival rides, games and more.
