Kiwanis online auction starts Thursday, raises funds for local organizations, activities that benefit youths
QUINCY — The 28th annual Bids for Kids online charity auction, hosted by Quincy Noon Kiwanis, begins at noon on Thursday, March 21 and runs through 7 p.m. on Sunday, March 24. Bidders can register for free at bidsforkids.auction and participate in minutes after a quick email verification.
The auction includes more than 250 unique items, all donated by generous local people and businesses. Some of the donated items include autographed sports memorabilia, retail, spa, fitness, golf, home, lawn, automotive, dining and family fun.
In a press release, auction co-chair Joe Bordewick said, “As a Kiwanian, one of the best days of the year is when we get to hand out checks to the local organizations that serve our kids.”
All proceeds from the auction are distributed either as grants to local organizations who serve kids or for one-on-one activities that directly engage kids in the Quincy community. Bids for Kids raised nearly $50,000 in 2023.
More details, including a complete list of auction items and the generous event sponsors, can be found at bidsforkids.auction.
Grant applications must be received by April 30 to be considered and can be downloaded at kiwanisofquincy.org/grants.
