Lay with YMCA of West Central Illinois honored for leadership, loyalty with Tom Stoll Award
QUINCY — The Illinois State Alliance of YMCAs recently announced that Kristen Lay has been honored with the Tom Stoll Award at the recent Fall Rally in Normal. This recognition highlights Lay’s dedication and work in service to the YMCA and its mission.
The Tom Stoll Award, established in memory of a YMCA leader who devoted nearly four decades to the organization, is presented annually to a Y professional who demonstrates outstanding executive or operational leadership and loyalty.
In a press release, Rick Shover, CEO of the YMCA of West Central Illinois, said, “Kristen Lay’s commitment to our cause of strengthening communities aligns perfectly with the legacy of Tom Stoll. Her leadership and dedication have significantly contributed to our mission of fostering youth development, healthy living and social responsibility across Illinois.”
The Illinois State Alliance of YMCAs represents more than 800 YMCA program locations, impacting more than 150 communities and engaging nearly one million Illinoisans. The alliance works tirelessly to foster statewide communication, collaboration, and advocacy for public policies that support the children, families and communities served by local YMCAs.
