Leach named December employee of the month at SIU Center for Family Medicine

QUINCY — SIU Center for Family Medicine recently recognized Kayla Leach as its December employee of the month.

Leach, a certified medical assistant, has been with SIU since January 2023. Her dedication to patient care and her team earned her this honor. She performs clinical tasks, supports outreach clinics and assists with phlebotomy in the clinic lab.

A colleague praised Leach’s work ethic, saying in a press release, “Kayla goes out of her way to take on tasks outside her role, takes ownership of patient care and ensures patient needs are met in a timely and compassionate manner. She has been vital to one of our outreach clinics.”

“Family medicine is a busy atmosphere, but I wouldn’t change a thing. I’ve learned so much in two short years, and I am inspired daily by the dedication and compassion of my team,” Leach said.
