Local nonprofit to provide holiday meals to Army National Guard, Toys for Tots recipients, veterans beginning Sunday

QUINCY — Served with Love, a local nonprofit serving west central Illinois, will be providing holiday meal baskets to veterans, military families and recipients of Toys for Tots WCIL. A total of 1,300 meal baskets containing ham or turkey, instant mashed potatoes, stuffing, canned vegetables, cornbread, rolls, jello, Cool Whip and pie will be prepared for distribution.

The first delivery on Sunday, Dec. 8, will consist of 55 holiday meal boxes to the Army National Guard Unit 126 based in Quincy. The remaining baskets will be prepared on Dec. 16 for distribution on Dec. 17-19 at Toys for Tots and on Dec. 21 to veterans.

Served with Love began spreading the word of its mission in February and became a non-profit on Oct. 24, 2024. Six members serve on the board. Officers are Lisa Sutton-president, Tiffany Haistings-vice president, LaChelle Wigfall-secretary and Cathy Harvey-treasurer. The group also has a handful of volunteers helping and working relationships with several area businesses.
