Memorial Hospital announces revamped New Beginnings program for weight management, heart health

CARTHAGE, Ill. — Memorial Hospital’s Health and Wellness Center recently introduced its revised New Beginnings program, designed to provide people with the guidance, tools and support needed for long-term healthy lifestyle changes. Whether focusing on weight loss or heart health, New Beginnings offers accessible, Medicare-accepted resources to help participants achieve their goals.
The New Beginnings Weight Loss Program is tailored for people with a BMI over 30 who are ready to embark on a journey toward better health. Participants meet regularly with a registered dietitian — virtually or in person — to receive expert coaching and support. Medicare is accepted for those who qualify with a referral from your provider.
For those looking to improve heart health, the New Beginnings Heart Health Program offers one medicare-covered Intensive Behavioral Therapy (IBT) per year with a registered dietitian. Additional sessions may be available depending on coverage.
IBT focuses on diet and lifestyle changes that have been proven to lower heart disease risks and promote long-term wellness. The Heart Health Program is available to all Medicare beneficiaries with a referral from your provider.
