Memorial Medical Clinics welcomes counselor with 25 years of experience to behavioral health team

CARTHAGE, Ill. — Memorial Medical Clinics recently announced the addition of Candice Murrell-Cannon to its behavioral health team. She has 25 years of experience in mental health and counseling.

Cannon is a board-certified counselor specializing in cognitive behavioral therapy and substance use disorders. She serves patients aged 12 and older, including geriatrics, and is dedicated to addressing daily stress, past trauma, anxiety, depression, personality disorders and LGBTQ+ mental health needs.

Cannon has an associate’s degree in chemical dependency counseling from Southeastern Community College in Burlington, a bachelor’s in psychology from Iowa Wesleyan University and a master’s in education, community mental health counseling from Quincy University.

Her professional training spans notable institutions such as Transitions, Blessing Care Coordination, Blessing Inpatient Psychiatry, Blessing Outpatient Behavioral Health and ADDS.

Licensed in Illinois, Iowa, and Missouri, Murrell-Cannon is affiliated with the National Board for Certified Counselors and the National Alliance on Mental Illness.

“I believe we all make life choices, good and bad, that we can learn from to become stronger and wiser. These are our life lessons. Let’s navigate them together,” Murrell-Cannon said in a press release.
