New Quincy Rotary After Dark group selects Iles Elementary for service project

Quincy Rotary Club

QUINCY — The Quincy Rotary After Dark is a newly formed group dedicated to service projects in the Quincy area. The group has chosen Iles Elementary School closet program as an ongoing service project.

The group will provide needed supplies in provided closets for children in need with a goal of helping all children confident in appearance and prepared for success. The Rotary District 6460 has provided a grant to get the project started.

The closets are inside the school where kids, parents, school nurses, teachers or administrators can get needed hygiene items and/or clean clothes in a private, dignified way. Students who need clean clothing, shoes, hygiene or supplies can discreetly notify school staff and then access the items in need.

Donations of hygiene products, new and gently used clothing, shoes and monetary donations are always welcome.

Rotary After Dark came together to provide a Rotary option for people who cannot commit to daytime meetings but want to provide service project options and promote the mission of the International Rotary group. The group meets at 6 p.m. on the second and fourth Tuesdays at Relax Quincy Spas. New members are welcome.
