HULL, Ill. — The annual Hull of Race, a 5k/10k walk, run or roll event which raises funds for Parkinson’s research, will be held Saturday, Aug. 19 in conjunction with the annual Hull picnic and chicken dinner.

This event, held annually on the third Saturday in August, was founded in 2006 by Sam and Marilyn White, Jim and Mable Reed and Lori Riti.

Marilyn White, one of the driving forces behind Hull of a Race, died in October 2022 from Parkinson’s Disease. She was recognized earlier in the year by the St. Louis Chapter of the APDA in 2022 as a Parkinson’s Hero for her 16 years of dedication to the race and the more than $100,000 raised for Parkinson’s research under her direction.
