JWCC to be host of College Connections event Tuesday at Southeast Education Center in Pittsfield
PITTSFIELD, Ill. — John Wood Community College is offering College Connections, an open house for anyone interested in programs at JWCC, from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, April 11. at the JWCC Southeast Education Center, 39637 260th Ave.
Admissions, financial aid and academic advising services will be available.
Attendees can visit with JWCC representatives to learn about academic programs, get help applying to college, financial aid and scholarships and career coaching. New students attending the event will receive a $100 fall scholarship.
Maranda Mize, an adult sure tech student at JWCC, started attending late in life after spending 20 years as a stay-at-home mom and wife. She was excited to return to school and finds John Wood has helped her find herself again. As her children near the end of their high school education, John Wood has stepped in and helped her son through dual enrollment classes.
“The JWCC staff has been very helpful in working with her schedule and getting her accommodated in the classroom again,” Mize said in a press release.
Summer and fall registration will be available during the College Connections event.
