Pittsfield branch of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints welcomes new pastor

PITTSFIELD, Ill. — One of the Christian congregations in Pittsfield has a new pastor.
Paul Drake is the new president of the Pittsfield branch of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He will be shepherding members, friends and visitors attending from Pittsfield, Mount Sterling, Louisiana, Mo., and other surrounding towns. Drake will be assisted by Richard Mudd in leading this growing church.
Drake is retired after 35 years of service from the state of Illinois Department of Human Services, serving many years as an agency bureau chief and most recently as school administrator for the Illinois School for the Visually Impaired in Jacksonville. He continues to advocate for people with disabilities through state and local constituency groups. He is a convert of 25 years to the church.
Mudd is a naturalist and an animal lover. He is retired from Illinois Road Contractors (Meredosia Terminal) and has served in various leadership capacities in the church for 48 years.
The congregation meets every Sunday at 1255 W. Washington Street in Pittsfield with worship services at 10 a.m.
