QUINCY — Podiatrist Michael Kiely has joined the musculoskeletal team at Blessing Health, and Venkata Achanta has joined the Department of Hospital Medicine.

Certified by the American Board of Podiatric Medicine, Dr. Kiely earned his medical degree from the Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in Chicago and completed residency at the William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital in Wisconsin.

The son of a podiatrist, Kiely strives to help patients discover how the science of medicine can impact their lives.

In a press release, Kiely said, “Anyone could read a book and know what a medical treatment should be and follow it, but each patient needs to reach their own goals. It’s important to help people know what the textbook and current research says, then help them make sense of that and how it impacts their lives. I want my patients to feel heard and know that I am addressing what concerns them most about their health.”

Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, Dr. Achanta earned his medical degree from Rangaraya Medical College in India and completed residency at Brookdale Hospital and Medical Center in Brooklyn, N.Y.

With more than 17 years of experience as a hospitalist, Achanta follows the example of one of his professors whom he considers a role model.

“I liked his approach to patients. I follow it still today,” he said. “I interact with patients on a personal level as well as medically. That helps in the healing process. The way I interact with patients and explain things to them helps put them at ease.”
