President’s Leadership Breakfast on Thursday features QU alumna and head of human resources for Kohl’s

QUINCY — Quincy University alumna Jarja Phillips, Class of 1998, will be the featured speaker at the President’s Leadership Breakfast from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 28 in the QU Cafeteria, 18th and Lind.

Phillips is the vice president and head of human resources for Kohl’s Department Stores Division. She is responsible for creating talent, culture and human resource strategy for 1,170 stores, supporting 7,500 employees. Phillips has extensive experience in retail operations and human resources. One of her most notable achievements is recipient of the “Glass Ceiling” award from Ohio National Diversity Council for her exceptional work in diversity and inclusion.

The President’s Leadership Breakfast Series is a regular campus event where community leaders share their knowledge on different topics. While enjoying a buffet-style breakfast, local business professionals and government officials join QU faculty, staff and students to network and converse. Each breakfast features a guest speaker who will share about their organization or cause and how they have demonstrated leadership.
