QUINCY — Three doctors have joined Blessing Health — Daniel Boeder, a child and adolescent psychiatrist, has joined the Behavioral Center; Brian Anderson has joined the department of neurosurgery; and Benny Seto, hand and upper extremity surgeon, has joined the orthopedics and sports medicine team.

A graduate of Southern Illinois University School of Medicine, where he also completed residency, Dr. Boeder completed a fellowship in adolescent psychiatry at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield. He holds a master of cytopathology practice from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center.

In a press release, Boeder said, “I had family members who needed mental healthcare and didn’t know where to go or who to see. I recognized the need. Dealing with mental illness is a huge strain. I want to help as much as I can.”

A graduate of Oregon Health and Science University, Dr. Anderson completed an internship, residency and two fellowships at Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. He specializes in the implantation of neuromodulators — tiny computers that stimulate the central nervous system and assist in managing conditions ranging from pain to epilepsy and Parkinson’s Disease.

“I have seen spinal cord injury patients move fingers that they hadn’t been able to move. It’s about as close to miraculous as anything in medicine,” Anderson said of the benefits of neuromodulation.

Certified by the American Board of Surgery, Dr. Seto earned his medical degree from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry in New York. He completed residency in general surgery and a hand surgery fellowship at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York City.

“As a physician, I can help people alleviate their suffering,” Seto said. “As a surgeon, it is gratifying to use my own hands to make a difference in their conditions, to help them get back the use of their hands in their activities of daily living.”
