Public invited to ribbon cutting, open house at new Illini Fitness location in Pittsfield on Tuesday

PITTSFIELD, Ill. — Illini Community Hospital will have a public ribbon cutting and open house at the new location of Illini Fitness on the hospital campus, 321 W. Washington, on Tuesday, Sept. 17. The ribbon cutting will be held at 9 a.m., and the open house will be held until 11 a.m.

Illini Fitness, open to hospital employees and the public for workout memberships, used to occupy leased space in Pittsfield before its recent relocation to the hospital campus. Benefits of the relocation are:

  • additional work-out equipment including four treadmills, multi-press combo machine, biceps/triceps machine, lat-pulldown/seated row cable machine, a Rogue squat rack with bumper plates and a functional trainer that will be installed later in the month
  • a fresh, remodeled environment
  • better parking
