QCES Foundation expands support for Catholic schools with teacher grant program

QUINCY — The Quincy Catholic Elementary Schools (QCES) Foundation recently announced the launch of its new teacher grant program, which will support educators by funding innovative classroom projects, materials, technology and professional development opportunities that enhance student learning.
Teachers within the QCES system can apply for grants of up to $1,000 per classroom. The program is made possible by the Louise Doyle Memorial Fund and the Maureen McLaughlin Schuering Endowed Fund, both established to honor longtime educators.
In a press release, Elizabeth Brown, board president, said, “This is an exciting step forward for the QCES Foundation. For years, our focus has been on tuition assistance, ensuring that Catholic education remains accessible to families and that enrollment stays strong. With the teacher grant program, we’re now able to expand our impact by providing educators with the resources they need to enhance their classrooms and inspire their students in new ways.”
Applications will be accepted throughout April. A committee composed of QCES Foundation board members and community members will evaluate the applications and recommend awards based on their potential to enhance, enrich and complement the school’s curriculum and classroom experience. Funding decisions will be announced by the end of May, ensuring teachers have sufficient time to order materials and have everything in place for the start of the new school year.
“The mission of the QCES Foundation is to enhance Catholic education,” said Sara Reuschel, executive director. “This program aligns with that mission by offering a new way to strengthen our schools through supporting the teachers who play a pivotal role in shaping students’ academic and faith-filled journeys.”
