QND, Quincy’s four Catholic elementary schools to celebrate Catholic Schools Week this week
QUINCY — Quincy’s Catholic elementary schools are gearing up to celebrate Catholic Schools Week this week. This annual tradition, established in 1974, highlights the value of Catholic education in nurturing minds, fostering faith and contributing to the church, community and nation.
The week will begin when students and faculty gather virtually to say the rosary at 8:30 a.m. Monday, uniting all four elementary schools and Quincy Notre Dame.
In a press release, Christopher Gill, chief administrative leader of Quincy Catholic Schools, said, “To begin our week in prayer with the entire Catholic school community in Quincy is a powerful way for our students and faculty to center their hearts on Christ and set the tone for a week of gratitude and celebration.”
Throughout the week, schools will honor various groups who play vital roles in Catholic education, including parishes, the community, students, the nation, vocations, faculty, staff, volunteers and families.
Each school has a variety of planned activities throughout the week. If you are interested in learning more or would like to visit a school during the celebrations, contact Sara Reuschel by calling 217-779-3157, emailing director@quincycatholicschools.org or visiting www.quincycatholicschools.com.
Quincy Catholic Schools has more than 1,100 students enrolled in preschool through eighth grade at four campuses — Blessed Sacrament, St. Dominic, St. Francis and St. Peter.
