QUINCY — The Quincy Public Schools Foundation recently announced its latest round of grant funding, approving more than $110,000 to educators that will elevate student experiences and ignite creativity across the Quincy Public School District.

The foundation’s grants committee approved 22 grant applications totaling $72,671.70 to be distributed to schools this fall. An additional $42,120 in guaranteed funding was released from QPSF’s endowed Circles of Investment program, designated for specific programs in the 2025-2026 school year. All awarded funds become available on July 1 and will be used during the upcoming academic year.

“Reviewing Dream Big Grant applications is one of the most exciting times we have at QPSF,” Heidi Lanier, executive director of the QPS Foundation, said in a press release. “Each proposal reflects our educators’ passion and there is always so many intriguing opportunities. These projects touch every school in the district, ensuring that all students have access to exceptional opportunities that go beyond the basics.”

From artistic expression and innovative technology to life skills and athletic development, the funded grants represent a vibrant cross-section of student enrichment. Highlights include:

  • Pottery wheels for the QHS art studio
  • Kitchen ovens at Quincy Junior High School
  • Flexible seating and classroom tech enhancements
  • Musical instruments for Lincoln-Douglas Elementary
  • Author’s table for Rooney first-grade students
  • Support for the intramural basketball and cheer at Iles
  • Stay Afloat swimming lessons at the Kroc Center for special education students
  • Communication and life skills programs for deaf and hard-of-hearing students

In total, 36 of 44 submitted applications received partial or full funding, thanks to collaboration between QPSF and the school district. The foundation matched 14 applications with existing funding within the school district.

“Every dollar we award represents a commitment to the future of Quincy,” Lanier said. “I hope our community sees the real, tangible outcomes their support makes possible. We could not do this without the incredible generosity of the Quincy community. I hope all our supporters celebrate these grants with us.”

The Foundation’s Circles of Investment continue to serve as a sustainable source of program-specific funding. Each Circle is established by donors passionate about a particular area, such as STEM, arts or early childhood education.

“Our Circles are a testament to the enduring generosity of our community,” Lanier added. “They create long-term impact and help us meet needs year after year.”

All Quincy Public Schools staff members are encouraged to apply for grant funding through the foundation’s grants program. The next application cycle opens July 1 for funding in the spring 2026 semester. For more information or to apply, visit qpsfoundation.org.
