QU history professor to present ‘U. S. presidents who have visited Adams County’ on Thursday

QUINCY — Quincy University’s history department will be the host of a presentation by Justin Coffey, professor of history, and Father Aaron Pembleton, endowed chair in history, at 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 3, in the QU Hall of Fame Room in the Health and Fitness Center, 1901 Oak.
In his presentation, “U.S. Presidents Who Have Visited Adams County,” Coffey will discuss the history of chief executives who have visited Adams County, a county named after John Quincy Adams, the country’s sixth president.
“The talk will include those who came to Adams County when they were president and a few who campaigned in Quincy and later went to the presidency,” said Coffey in a press release.
This presentation is part of the Adams County Bicentennial celebration.
