QUANADA to offer discussion on deepfake technology, digitally altered images Wednesday

Copy of Another Body - 1

QUINCY — In recognition of Sexual Assault Awareness Month, QUANADA is hosting a free documentary screening and discussion of the implications of deepfake technology and digitally altered images at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, April 9, in MacHugh Theatre in Francis Hall on the Quincy University campus.

The film “Another Body” is a SXSW winning documentary chronicling deepfake abuse – a form of image-based sexual violence – experienced by college students at alarmingly increasing rates. As the criminal-legal system struggles to keep up with the changing landscape of technology, survivors seek justice and healing through their own methods.

The refreshment hour begins at 6 p.m. with screening to follow at 7 p.m. The first 70 guests will receive a swag bag with merchandise, snacks and other resources. Guests must be older than 18 due to adult themes and language. No advance registration is necessary.
