Quincy Police to launch citizen engagement, feedback solution through text message surveys

QUINCY — The Quincy Police Department is announcing a new tool to collect feedback on non-life- threatening calls for service.
In the near future, QPD will start sending text message surveys after certain types of interactions with the department. Each survey will ask just a few questions about how satisfied a person is after that interaction and also provide an opportunity for feedback.
Chief Adam Yates said that feedback is important to the department to know how the department is doing and to provide the appropriate feedback to officers to best serve the community.
Not everyone will receive a survey. Residents who do not want to participate can simply not respond or opt out when the survey arrives.
Citizens should not rely on this solution to directly communicate with the police department. Anyone with an emergency or who has a question or needs information should still call the dispatch non-emergency number at 217-222-9360 or the police department at 217-228-4470.
