Oktoberfest

QUINCY — Rotary’s Oktoberfest returns to The District and QUBA (Quincy Brewery Arts) with more to do, more to see and three high-energy bands.

Admission is free on Saturday, Sept. 30, from noon until 10 p.m. in the German Historic District outside of QUBA’s Dick Brothers Brewery on York Street between Ninth and 10th Streets. All proceeds from the event will benefit local Rotary projects.

Party in the strasse with beer trucks from major local distributors offering dozens of domestic and German beers along with wine. The Ratskeller bar, along with Dick Brothers Museum, will be open during the event, both located onsite. The Oktoberfest After Party will be held from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. at The Ratskeller where you can check out their new Bier Garten. Advance tickets required online at dickbrothersbrewery.com.

The popular guided tunnel tours will return for $10 per person from noon to 5 p.m. in the caverns beneath the brewery complex. Sign-up is available onsite or in advance at dickbrothersbrewery.com to ensure time slots.

All ages are invited to “run” the not-so-grueling 0.2k Beer and Brat Dash at 4:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. through the streets of the festival. The coveted dash stickers will be on hand for those who finish the 200-meter race. Race cost is $12 per person. Register the day of the event at the west information station.

The festival will offer axe throwing from Quincy Axe Company and fun for the kids provided by the Quincy Children’s Museum.

Dance in the streets to music from ELEVEN from noon to 3 p.m. Uber Cool, a five-piece German band from St. Louis, will play from 3 to 6 p.m., and The Gentlemen will perform from 7 to 10 p.m.

Rotary will be serving German-themed food from noon to 7 p.m. along with a selection of food truck offerings.
