Special Olympics Illinois invites potential athletes, families to Sunday event at Tangerine Bowl

QUINCY — Special Olympics Illinois Region H will hold an interest meeting and bowling event for potential athletes and their families at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 13, at the Tangerine Bowl, 3530 Maine.

This free outreach event will be an opportunity for potential athletes to enjoy bowling and food and to interact with existing Quincy-area Special Olympics Illinois athletes and to learn about the programming of Special Olympics Illinois.

“Special Olympics Illinois is eager to welcome new athletes to our community,” Lynde Pavich, director of Region H, said in a press release. “There are so many life-changing opportunities available through our organization, so whether you are passionate about sports, health or personal development, there is a place for you.”

Parents and guardians can learn more about Special Olympics Illinois and the ways their athletes can participate in the various sports programs, health initiatives and leadership and personal development opportunities.
