Third annual Rube Goldberg Science Fair to be held Friday at St. Peter School gym

Rube Goldberg Fair 2024

QUINCY — The St. Peter School Wilhelm Johnson Scholz STEM Lab will be the host of the third annual Rube Goldberg Science Fair from 1:15 to 2:15 p.m. Friday in the St. Peter School gym.

The science fair has been prepared by students in grades 5-8 who learned of Rube Goldberg during STEM class. The students have created machines that mimic Goldberg’s machines to complete a simple task of their choosing in a “not-so-simple way.”

The science fair will involve different groups of students modeling how the machines they designed operate. The students will apply their knowledge of simple machines and types of energy through their presentations to the public. Each design will be voted on during the fair in hopes that the winning group may be interviewed by the media and the yearbook.
