TriState Diversity Coalition’s fifth annual Pride in the Park celebration set for Sept. 21

QUINCY — The TriState Diversity Coalition’s fifth annual Pride in the Park, a celebration of LGBTQ pride, diversity and inclusion, will take place from noon to 6 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 21, at Clat Adams Park.
The event will bring together people from across Illinois, Missouri and Iowa. It will feature a day of entertainment, including local musicians. Attendees will be treated to performances by drag artists. A variety of vendors such as local businesses, local non-profits and community outreach organizations will provide valuable resources and information.
Christopher Taylor, president of the TriState Diversity Coalition, expressed the need for visibility and connection in the community in a press release.
“Now more than ever, our community members deserve to be celebrated for exactly who they are,” Taylor said. “The continued marginalization, exclusion and regulation of LGBTQAI+ individuals and their identities can weigh heavy on those who are already facing a challenging time living their own life. We must celebrate and uplift our community members and provide them an opportunity to connect and uplift each other.”
