QUINCY — United Way of Adams County celebrated its biggest Day of Caring to date on Friday, June 6, with local businesses and service organizations coming together to complete 23 community service projects across Adams County.

This remarkable day of volunteerism was powered by 18 local businesses and two service organizations, representing a record level of community collaboration and support.

Day of Caring is one of United Way’s cornerstone initiatives, bringing people together through meaningful service, purposeful connection and a shared belief in giving back. From painting and landscaping to organizing donations and beautifying public spaces, the projects tackled throughout the day were as diverse as they were impactful.

“Today was really special. To see so many people get out into the community and lend a helping hand is what makes Adams County what it is,” Makayla Buckley, communications and program director for United Way of Adams County, said in a press release. “United Way of Adams County is so grateful to the businesses and organizations for helping to make this year’s Day of Caring bigger and better than ever.”

This year’s Day of Caring was made possible through the generous support of community partners and sponsors: Blessing Health System, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Quincy Medical Group, Refreshment Services Pepsi, Niemann Foods, Hula Bowls, and Raising Cane’s. Their contributions helped provide supplies, hydration, meals and more, ensuring volunteers had everything they needed to get the job done.
