TIMEWELL, Ill. — Campers and other users of Jensen Woods Camp are enjoying a new feature at the camp this summer – a new playground. The new playground currently includes a four-seater swing set and monkey bars. The playground is centrally located near Dixon Lodge and the RV camping sites for children to enjoy while camping or attending other events held at the camp.

Funding to construct the playground was possible through grants including The Samantha Otte Fund through the Community Foundation and Gem City Kiwanis, along with individual donations. The camp would like to thank Area Fabricators and anonymous friends for their assistance with constructing the monkey bars and to those who helped install the playground.

Jensen Camp Foundation is hopeful to add a slide, benches, and shade trees to the playground, in the near future with the help of additional grants and donations.

Jensen Woods Camp is a 501c3 not-for-profit located five miles north of Timewell. For more information about Jensen Woods Camp and their facilities, visit www.jensenwoodscamp.com, email jensenwoodscamp@gmail.com or call 217-939-9706.
