Western Illinois University donors break records for Giving Tuesday campaign
MACOMB/MOLINE, Ill. — Western Illinois University announced on Dec. 3 a record-breaking Giving Tuesday campaign for the second straight year.
WIU saw $95,840 raised through gifts from 351 donors during the 24-hour stretch, contributing to WIU programs and special projects. WIU raised a then-record $61,243 during Giving Tuesday last year.
Tim Hallinan, director of annual giving, expressed his appreciation for donors to this year’s Giving Tuesday event.
“In our 125th year, the generosity of alumni, friends, faculty, staff and students on Giving Tuesday reminds us of the lasting impact of Western Illinois University and what can be achieved through philanthropy,” Hallinan said in a press release. “Today and every day, we are grateful for friends and alumni who take the time to make a meaningful difference in the areas of campus they care about, all while enhancing the student experience.”
