Winter commencement ceremony for December graduates of Quincy University to be held Saturday

QUINCY — Quincy University will host its winter commencement ceremony at 9 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, in Pepsi Arena in the Health and Fitness Center, 20th and Oak. The winter graduating class has 43 undergraduates and 12 graduate degree recipients.

University marshal Robert Mejer, distinguished professor of art, and assistant marshals David Kirchhofer and Scott Luaders, professors of physics and chemistry will lead the procession. Sarah Vordtriede-Patton, provost and vice president for academic affairs, will convene the ceremony.

Rev. John Doctor, O.F.M., vice president for mission and ministry, will deliver the invocation and benediction. President Brian McGee will deliver the commencement address and give closing remarks.

QU students Adam Liesen, Crystal Middendorf and Sophia Zanger will join Jonathan Stewart, associate professor of vocal music and director of choral activities, to perform the National Anthem and the Quincy University Alma Mater.
