WIU, Hy-Vee partner up with ‘Fuel Point W’ campaign

MACOMB, Ill. — The Western Illinois University Foundation and Hy-Vee have launched a new initiative to benefit the WIU Veterans Resource Center.
Under the “Fuel Point W” campaign, the Hy-Vee gas station on E. Jackson St. in Macomb will feature two WIU-themed pumps over the next year. One cent for each gallon sold from those pumps, No. 1 and No. 10, will be donated to the Veterans Resource Center.
“We’re proud to partner with Hy-Vee on this to support student veterans at Western Illinois University,” WIU director of Annual Giving Tim Hallinan said in a press release. “Every gallon pumped at ‘Fuel Point W’ helps ensure our student veterans and military-affiliated students have access to the support and resources they deserve through our Veterans Resource Center.”
This campaign began on Tuesday, July 1, and will run through Wednesday, July 1, 2026.
“Hy-Vee has always been proud to partner with local organizations to help further enrich the lives of its customers and fellow community members,” Macomb Hy-Vee store director Will Woods said. “The Macomb Hy-Vee is excited to continue that tradition through this program with WIU. We look forward to seeing the positive impact this will have on the lives of service members in the community.”
