Addition of doctor allows Hannibal Regional to offer cardiac electrophysiologist procedures
HANNIBAL, Mo. — The addition of Dr. Santhisri Kodali allows Hannibal Regional Hospital to offer cardiac electrophysiology procedures, including catheter ablation, which will offer more choices for advanced cardiac care to Hannibal, Quincy and surrounding areas.
As a cardiac electrophysiologist, Kodali specializes in the treatment of heart rhythm problems, also known as cardiac arrhythmias. She earned her medical degree from Texas A&M HSC College of Medicine and went on to complete her residency in internal medicine and fellowship in cardiovascular disease at Houston Methodist Hospital. She completed her clinical cardiac electrophysiology fellowship at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Pa.
In a press release, Kodali said, “I chose to join Hannibal Regional because it presented a great opportunity to build a cardiac electrophysiology program that will provide high quality and cutting-edge care for patients with arrhythmias in Hannibal and the surrounding communities.”
Cardiac electrophysiologists examine your heart’s electrical conduction system, which sends an electrical signal through your cells in order to regulate heart rate and rhythm.
