HANNIBAL, Mo. — Due to construction at Central Park, Kiwanis Park will be the location of Central Park Farmers Market starting Saturday, June 28.

The farmers market is open each week from 7:30 a.m. to noon on Saturdays and 3 to 7 p.m. on Tuesdays. Live music will be playing during market hours along with a yoga class from Twisted Juniper Yoga offered at 9 a.m.

In a press release, Steve Huse, market manager, said he is excited about the challenge of a new location this year.

“There are more vendors than ever, and we will have plenty of shade and room for everyone, along with a playground for the kids,” he said.

The market will remain at Kiwanis Park until the last day of the season on Oct. 25.

This is the fifth year that several of the vendors are eligible to take SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) benefits for payment, through a program with Douglass Community Services.

The renovation to Central Park renovation will begin after National Tom Sawyer Days and includes a facelift to repair the bandstand, sidewalks, curbs, gutters and the fountain.
