Chess tournament scheduled for Oct. 14 at Hannibal Free Public Library

HANNIBAL, Mo. — Hannibal Free Public Library is sponsoring a free chess tournament on Saturday, Oct. 14, at the library, 200 S. Fifth. 

Start time will be between 10:30 and 11 a.m., with play ending by 4 p.m. or when all games are complete. A break for lunch after the first round is planned.

Gary Blickhan of Quincy will serve as tournament director for the three-round tournament. There will be adult and junior divisions. Trophies will be awarded to the winner in each division. Players of all ages and skill levels are welcome to participate. Spectators are welcome.
