Douglass Community Services, Hannibal Parks and Recreation sponsoring Toys for Tots
HANNIBAL, Mo. — Locally sponsored by Douglass Community Services and Hannibal Parks and Recreation, the goal of the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program is to collect new, unwrapped toys and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to less fortunate children in the community. Each child receives five toys, along with stocking stuffers and books.
City Hall and the Admiral Coontz Recreation Center are two of many sites collecting toys for the Toys for Tots program this season. Toys will be collected along the route on Broadway and Main Street during the Christmas parade at 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 2, sponsored by the Hannibal Jaycees.
Applications are being accepted through an online form: https://forms.gle/b4EppUtKgB8MCt2r7. Stacey Nicholas, Toys for Tots coordinator, said paper applications are available at the Douglass Food Pantry and Thrift Store at 302 Broadway.
More than 1,300 children in northeast Missouri received gifts through the Toys for Tots program last year.
