Douglass Community Services to support access to fresh, local food at Hannibal Farmers Market

Douglass Community Services

HANNIBAL, Mo. — Douglass Community Services recently announced its continued participation in the Hannibal Farmers Market, where the organization will operate a booth each week to support food access through the Missouri SNAP and Double Up Food Bucks programs.

The Hannibal Farmers Market will be held at Central Park through June 28, then will move to Kiwanis Park from July 5 through Oct. 25. The market runs from 7:30 a.m. to noon every Saturday, offering a welcoming space for the community to gather, connect and support local growers, bakers and artisans.

As part of its mission to strengthen families and improve access to nutritious food, Douglass Community Services will provide on-site services at the market. Eligible participants can purchase SNAP tokens directly at the Douglass booth and use them with participating vendors through Oct. 25.

Douglass will also help families take advantage of the Missouri Double Up Food Bucks program, which matches SNAP dollars spent on fresh fruits and vegetables — up to $25 per EBT card per day. This means families can receive additional funds to buy even more fresh produce, doubling their buying power. Double Up tokens can be redeemed at the market through Aug. 30.

The vendors who participate at the market are:

  • Mary’s Herbs and Baked Goods
  • Stone River Farm
  • Farr Family Homestead
  • Crane Farms
  • Gannie Cakes and Sweet Treats
  • Haley’s Cookie Jar
  • Sandy Creek Farm
  • Neverland Garden, LLC
  • Humility Homestead, LLC
  • Raith Brothers Produce, LLC
  • Hope Farms
  • Daniel Hughes
