QUINCY — Local nonprofits looking to build their programming, expand their mission and better their communities are invited to apply for grant funding through the Community Foundation Serving West Central Illinois and Northeast Missouri’s annual community grant program.

The deadline to submit grant applications is 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday, May 1.

Grants totaling more than $210,000 will be awarded to nonprofit organizations advancing arts and culture, community betterment, education, health and human services. The awards are made possible by more than 50 endowed funds at the Community Foundation, which were established by donors to support the communities and causes they care about.

Eligible nonprofits may request up to $7,500 for both project/program support and general operating support. Projects must serve within the Community Foundation’s service area of Adams, Brown, Hancock, and Pike counties in Illinois; and Clark, Knox, Lewis, Marion, Monroe, Pike, Ralls and Shelby counties in Missouri.

Grants will be awarded in mid-August.
