HANNIBAL, Mo. — Hannibal/Monroe City native Kaylee Buckman was named as 104th Missouri state Jaycee president on Jan. 18 at the Missouri Jaycee winter state meeting in the Lake of the Ozarks.

Buckman, a member of the Hannibal Jaycees since 2017, has served as a board member, Missouri Region 2 director and Missouri state vice president for multiple years. She has chaired Hannibal chapter events such as the Wing Ding, Chili Cookoff and National Tom Sawyer Days, and she assisted in running and planning the escape rooms for the Warehouse of Nightmares along with planning several rooms inside the haunted house.

Asked why someone should become a Jaycee, Buckman said, “It is a great way to meet new people and get into your community. It also helps you grow as a person and develop leadership skills.”
