Hannibal Jaycees to hold first Adopt-A-Family fundraiser Sept. 28

HANNIBAL, Mo. — The Hannibal Elks Lodge, 411 Broadway, will be the site for the first Hannibal Jaycees Adopt-A-Family fundraiser that will begin with a cocktail hour from 4:30 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 28, with dinner served at 6:30.

The evening will include a fully catered meal, silent auction, live auction and DJ.

Families will fill out applications in November if they need help with gifts for the holiday season. Families are picked for the program based on information in the application. The number of families chosen depends on the budget. Gifts are bought based on wants and needs including parents. The Jaycees will wrap them and deliver them if needed.

The program started in 2021 to help bring the spirit of Christmas back to children because of local organizations evolving or no longer existing.

Reservations are required for the event. The cost is $30 per person or $225 for a table of eight. Checks, credit cards and Venmo are accepted forms of payment. Cash will be accepted onsite.
