Hannibal-LaGrange University, Mark Twain Behavioral Health partner to train counselors

HANNIBAL, Mo. — Mark Twain Behavioral Health (MTBH) and Hannibal-LaGrange University (HLGU) have partnered to train licensed professional counselors to serve northeast Missouri. The new partnership will provide tuition and fees for eligible counseling students and job placement within Mark Twain Behavioral Health.
HLGU offers a master of arts in counseling program to prepare licensed professional counselors a relevant education anchored in a biblical worldview. The program can be completed in two years and opens the door to provide counseling in a variety of settings: private practice, agency, hospital, school and university.
Mark Twain Behavioral Health is a private not-for-profit Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic serving northeast Missouri with services for youth, adults, couples, families and communities with locations in Hannibal, Kirksville and Macon. They strive to treat the whole person by promoting wellness as people work toward their personal goals of achieving a satisfying, productive and healthy lifestyle.
In a press release, HLGU President Robert J. Matz said, “HLGU exists to serve this region. We are grateful for the opportunity to partner with MTBH to provide an avenue for men and women to obtain both education and employment in northeast Missouri.”
