HANNIBAL, Mo. — Hannibal Regional Healthcare System has announced that it will officially transition to the Epic electronic health record (EHR) system on July 9. This launch marks a significant step forward in enhancing patient care, improving clinical workflows and streamlining communication across the healthcare continuum.  Epic is one of the most widely used and respected EHR systems in the country, trusted by leading hospitals and health systems to securely manage patient information and support exceptional care delivery.

In a press release, Todd Ahrens, president and CEO at Hannibal Regional Healthcare System, said, “Switching to Epic reflects our commitment to providing the highest quality care for our patients. With this powerful platform, patients will benefit from a more seamless and connected experience across all of our services.”

The new system will offer patients secure and convenient access to their health information through MyChart, Epic’s user-friendly patient portal. MyChart will allow patients to view test results, request prescription refills, send messages to their care team, schedule appointments and more all from the convenience of a smartphone, tablet or computer. For care teams, Epic will improve coordination and efficiency by consolidating patient records into a single, comprehensive system used across all Hannibal Regional facilities and partner providers.

As Hannibal Regional prepares for the launch, teams across the organization are undergoing extensive training and testing to ensure a smooth transition for both patients and staff.

“This is more than a technology upgrade, it’s an investment in the future of healthcare in our region,” said Ahrens. “We’re excited to bring Epic to Hannibal Regional and look forward to the many ways it will improve care delivery for the communities we serve.”
