Hannibal Regional welcomes nurse practitioner to gastroenterology team

HANNIBAL, Mo. — Hannibal Regional Medical Group recently welcomed Mandy McAllister to its gastroenterology team.
McAllister earned her nursing degree from Maryville University and has provided gastroenterology care in the region for several years. A gastroenterology provider focuses on the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases and disorders of digestive system.
McAllister finds it rewarding to help patients and chose to specialize in gastroenterology and hepatology after witnessing many of her family members affected by related conditions.
In a press release, McAllister said, “There is a special place in my heart for the specialties of gastroenterology and hepatology as many of my family members have been affected by related diseases. I believe that all patients deserve to be treated as I would treat my own family. That is why I am passionate about taking the time to provide thorough patient education to ensure that all patients feel knowledgeable about their condition, as well as strategies to maintain a positive quality of life.”
McAllister chose to join the Hannibal Regional team because of the unique and supportive culture.
“It is unique and supportive with leadership that cares about their team members,” she said. “Having a voice within a healthcare organization is essential to providing quality care and focusing on the patient’s health to guide them to better. It only made sense to work for an organization that aligns with my missions and values.
“The most rewarding aspect of my job is simply helping patients. I pride myself on building a foundation of trust with each patient. This trusting relationship allows me to provide personalized care by using the skills and knowledge I’ve acquired throughout my career to deliver individualized treatment.”
