Hannibal Regional welcomes nurse practitioner to Louisiana facility

HANNIBAL, Mo. — Hannibal Regional Medical Group recently welcomed Melissa White to its team in Louisiana. White earned her medical degree from the University of South Alabama and, with experience in a variety of medical settings, she brings a wealth of knowledge to care for the community.

As a primary care provider, White can help manage all aspects of her patients’ health needs from routine check-ups to screenings and vaccinations.

In a press release, White said, “I chose to specialize in the adult/geriatric population because of the growing aging community. I want to assist with improving quality of life and help individuals feel their best, even if they have chronic health conditions.”

White chose to pursue a career as a nurse practitioner to help make quality healthcare more accessible for rural communities like Louisiana.

“Hannibal Regional makes it easier for those individuals who are living in small towns to access medical facilities and specialties. I wanted to be a part of the Hannibal Regional team to better serve my new home town of Louisiana,” White said. “I find that the most rewarding part of my job is when patients trust me and learn to prioritize their own health. I hope to assist my patients in feeling comfortable enough to ask questions and learn about their health needs and preventative measures.”
