Hannibal’s Got Talent shines spotlight on local performers

HANNIBAL, Mo. — Hannibal’s Got Talent returned this year, once again highlighting the incredible local talent that makes the community shine. Held at Tanyard Gardens, the event welcomed nearly fifty contestants, each hoping to capture a top prize in their division.
The show opened with a heartfelt performance of the national anthem by previous Hannibal’s Got Talent winner Amy Powell, setting the tone for an evening filled with music, dance and even martial arts. Nervous but determined performers took the stage one by one, showcasing a variety of acts — from powerful vocal performances to energetic dance routines and unique talents.
Winners in the 12 and under category:
- 1st Place: Brecklynn Smothernian, who impressed the judges with a dance routine to “Crowded Room”
- 2nd Place: Lisa Davis, singing “Heart Attack”
- 3rd Place: Albert Dant, who sang and danced to “Billy Jean”
Winner in the 13-17 category:
- Shella Biggers, who gave a vocal performance aand guitar performance
Winners in the 18 and older category:
- 1st Place: Shaun Elzea who captivated the crowd with an energetic Kung Fu-inspired routine
- 2nd Place: Myth, a local girl ban who sang and danced a performance of “Imaginary Friend”
- 3rd Place: Catlin Jenkins who sang “Don’t Put Dirt On My Grave Just Yet”
Judges for the evening included Jason Lewton of WGEM; Matt Findlay, who also wowed the audience with two live vocal performances; Amy Powell, bringing her experience as a past winner; and Spencer Camp, whose smooth saxophone performances added to the show’s entertainment.
